Frequently asked
questions
How long does the battery last?
Each watch can last up to 72 hours without charging
How long does it take to charge a watch?
It takes roughly 30 minutes to fully charge a watch
Why doesn’t Poplar use something like Fitbit or Apple Watch?
Poplar prides itself in ONLY using devices that have been FDA approved. We believe that providing a facility with the most accurate patient data is CRUCIAL to a patient’s safety. The good news is that Poplar is device agnostic, meaning that once a watch without a finger sensor is FDA approved for pulse oximetry, we will have the ability to pivot.
How often does a patient wear a watch?
Do patients refuse to wear the watch?
We know that we are dealing with a challenging patient population. Patients will often reject going to group, participating in therapy and even AMA. Despite the many challenges we have to provide, we have seen the vast majority of patients embrace technology. It gives them a sense of peace knowing they are truly safe while in detox. In addition, they enjoy the fact that they don’t need to be woken up every hour at night.
Do patients keep the wearables?
Patients do not keep the watches. Each watch is assigned to a bed. And that watch will remain with the bed. So as patients discharge or move on to another level of care, they will turn the watch in and it will be assigned to the next incoming patient.
How do you take care of the watch
The watches are very durable and only require to be wiped down with a Lysol wipe when put on the charger.
How does the vitals equipment know what chart to put the data in?
When capturing the data with the equipment and IPad, the nurse or tech will enter in a unique client id. Then our software does the work from there!
What EHR Systems do you work with?
What does Implementation and Onboarding look like?
Many facilities find it daunting to take on something new. That’s why Poplar has made onboarding and training a breeze. After signing up for your new Poplar Program, you will have an initial call with your personal account manager and go over every detail. Then we will schedule a time to come onsite, install and train all your staff. We know how hard it is to coordinate schedules, so we accommodate your staff’s needs with our “Shoulder to Shoulder” Method. Your Poplar Client Manager will train staff as they work on each shift, day and night. Most facilities finish training and onboarding in just a few days.
What kind of ongoing support do you offer?
Poplar offers 24/7 customer support as well as ongoing training and development for you new staff. We assure you that your facility will feel supported every step of the way.
